Dos And Don’ts When Searching For A Foreign Fiance
With everything in life, there are some Dos and Don’ts before proceeding with a K1 Fiance Visa. Although things can seem simple, complications may arise. Looking at it from the 20,000 foot level, you find a girl online, meet her and then get married. Yet I can tell you from experience it is not that simple. Even if you have already found someone and dating, these simple “Dos and Don’ts” will help you succeed.
These are things to look out for when searching or dating a woman from abroad.
1) Do not use website that offer free dating services. Almost all the women on this site are not real. The photographs that these women send you are not real. If you are dating and talking to a woman from a free website, use caution. Give the relationship at least three to six months before moving forward. Send flowers to her home address. Have the agency take a picture of her to ensure you are talking to a real person. Most of the time the girl will disappear when she realizes you are getting too serious.
2) One rule that is blasted out all over the Internet is, “Never Send Money to Someone You Have Never Met”. Why? Most of the time if a woman is asking you for money, she is not real. She just wants to get as much money out of you as possible before moving on to her next victim. Often times she will go to the extreme of calling you to try and convince you that she is real. Don’t fall for it. The best thing to do is move on to someone new.
3) Do not give out too much information about yourself. Identity theft is just as big of a business abroad as it is here. The more information you give out, the easier it is for her to steal your identity. Don’t give it out. She does not need to know how much money you make, how much is in your bank account, your address or anything of that nature. Meet her first before giving out information that could harm your life.
Do these three things when searching or dating your foreign fiance.
1) Do ask her a lot of questions. Ask her about her life and family. What does she like to do? what are her goals and dreams? Does she want children? Find out as much as possible from her. She is going to be your possible fiance. The more you know the better off you will be when she finally gets to your country.
2) Meet you fiance more than once. I know the government only requires you to meet her once in a two year period, but you truly cannot get to know someone in just one meeting. Do yourself and your fiance a favor by meeting more than once. I recommend a minimum of three times or more.
3) Do save all your trip information as proof of your relationship. Also save phone call logs, emails and anything else you can save to show proof of the relationship.
Using these methods are the first steps to finding or dating a woman from a foreign country. It is also the first steps in the process of obtaining a K1 Fiance Visa.
